FOR SALE

JLT Cold Air Kit  $275

I am selling a JLT Cold Air Kit with tunes & SCT Xcalibrator 2 that I purchased new in the summer of 2007.  I only used it for about 800 miles, then removed it for the winter months.  I figured I didn't need extra torque in the snow.  That Spring, I installed an M90 Roush Supercharger so I no longer had any need for the JLT CA Kit.  It's just been sitting around collecting dust so I figured I'd get rid of it.  I don't remember what I paid for it except that it was over $500.  Checking JLT's website now shows the CA intake itself going for $209.  This does not include the SCT programmer or any tunes.  They also sell a package with the JLT CA intake and an SCT X3 with 2 tunes for $549.

Now...some background on tuning.  Custom tunes are written based on the computer code for your car.  In 2005 & 2006, most Mustang GT's used 2 different codes: CDC3 and TJF1.  When I purchased my kit, the tunes I got were supposed to be for a TJF1 computer but my SCT was loaded with tunes for a CDC3 computer.  No problem.  They sent me the proper codes for free.  The bonus was that I now had tunes for both computers.  Later, I ordered other tunes for different combinations & sometimes they sent tunes for the right code...sometimes they didn't.  As a result, I have a plethora of tunes for several combinations of intake, octane rating and performance levels.  Since the SCT only holds 3 tunes, you will have to load the tunes you want by using the software available on SCT's website.  I haven't done it in ages but, as I recall, it was pretty simple.

Here is a list of the tunes I have available and a brief description of how to read the tune specs from the file name.

For example, the first tune CDC3BobD87perfJLT2 is written for a computer using the CDC3 code, for me (BobD).  This is their all-out performance tune for low octane fuel when using the JLT CA Kit.

The 2nd tune is for the same setup except for use with 93 octane fuel.  It adds a little timing for more performance.

The 3rd tune uses the stock intake but is tuned for maximum low end torque with 93 octane.

The 4th tune is for use with the JLT CA for maximum low end torque with 93 octane.

I think you get the picture.  IMO, the torque tunes were much more fun for use in daily driving.  The performance tunes were meant for all out maximum hp numbers, at higher rpm, at the expense of low end torque.  Since I wasn't racing, I tried the tunes but didn't use them.

That said, you may have a different computer code, particularly if your car is newer.  In that case, the CA Kit will still work but you will have to contact JLT and order a custom tune.  Even so...this is still a good deal.  The SCT device alone costs almost $400.

WHEELS & TIRES   ($600)      Also have a set of (4) Anthracite spoked wheels from with new Firestone Winterforce snow tires, size 235/55R17. The wheels have about 15,000 miles on them and are in excellent condition. The tires have less than 200 miles on them. Since my Mustang is supercharged, winter driving isn't a realistic option. Tires were purchased locally where they were mounted & balanced. Tires alone cost over $650. These will fit any 2005 - 2009 Mustang (and probably some other Ford vehicles).

You can reach me HERE if you'd like to see any of the items listed above.

And...a few pics of my Mustang.
