On the
plus side, they give you an opportunity to see my work up close. Notice
the absence of glue lines, particularly on the "braided"
cue. You know glue lines, don't you? Those thin, dark outlines
around your inlays? That's the glue showing excessive clearance between
the inlay & the pocket. Glue lines will tend to be more visible when two
light colored woods are next to each other. That is one reason why ebony &
ivory are so commonly used in cues. Granted, they DO look very nice
together but the contrast also provides a greater margin of error to hide a
sloppy fit between the ivory inlay & the ebony cue body. It even allows
some people to use a black epoxy to fill in the gaps. Sneaky, sneaky :-)
